Jean-Francois GAULTHIER, from a family of Breton painters, was born in 1971.

Encouraged by his family, art quickly became his main interest. He began painting very early and was first exhibited in a gallery at the age of 18. At 25, he opened his studio in Pont-Aven, where Gauguin lived. It is the discovery of outdoor painting, exchanges between artists around color and light.

3 years later, he moved to the French Riviera, and opened his studio in Old Nice. New lights were offered to him.

On the occasion of an award he received in 1998, he exhibited at the Association des Jeunes Monégasques in Monaco and was discovered by a merchant who bought him all the paintings and made him participate in his exhibitions.

Devoting a daily and unconditional cult to Art, drawing inspiration and energy from various meetings and travels, he multiplies artistic experiences: whether in opera sets, performances. In 2018, he was invited for a month to Xian in artist residency . Everything becomes a means for him to regenerate his master pictorial practice: painting.

Now based between Nice and Vienna, he gives an internship every year in Tyrol to discover the joy of painting outdoors.

Thus, through travels, exhibitions and projects, he enriches his personal research, constantly evolving his work and trying to address themes that allow him to express his vision of the world.

Many collectors trust him with commissions or artistic events.
